Emojis are a fun way to attract eyes to your Instagram bios. But did you know that you can also use emojis as part of your hashtag strategy? In April 2015 Instagram changed its features so that you can now use emojis in your hashtags. Using emoji hashtags is a great way to generate industry specific content and use as part of an effective market research strategy. There are two ways to utilize emojis for your business.
First, you can use emojis to search for people. For example, if you’re really into the love emotion search for the heart emoji. When you type it into the search bar you will see all the people who use that emoji in their bios. Keep in mind that different combinations of emojis will generate different results.
Second, you can also search emoji hashtags for industry specific content. For example, if you’re a hairdresser you can look for other salons using the haircut emoji. Just type the emoji into your search bar and you’ll see all the content that has been generated within that emoji hashtag hub. This is a great way to see what other people within your industry are doing and to find other accounts you should be connecting with. You can also become part of the hashtag hub by using the emojis with your comments. Just be sure to use the hashtag sign with the emoji to be included within the emoji hub.
